Introduction
I built Sign-PDF.online because I kept running into the same annoying problem.
Sometimes you don't need a digital signature. You need your actual handwritten signature on a PDF.
Surprisingly, I couldn't find a tool that made this fast and painless, so I built one.
The Problem
Signing a PDF with a handwritten signature usually means:
- printing the document
- signing it on paper
- scanning it back into a PDF
Most people don't have a printer nearby, and printing a document just to get another PDF feels unnecessary.
When I looked at existing tools, I found two categories.
The first is electronic signatures. They're great for many cases, but they solve a different problem. Sometimes a real handwritten signature is required.
The second is handwritten signature tools. Most of them ask you to:
- draw your signature with a mouse or finger (it usually looks terrible)
- generate a fake signature using a handwriting font (it's not actually yours)
- upload an image of your signature (only convenient if you already have one with the background removed)
None of these options felt simple enough.
The Solution
Sign-PDF.online lets you create a clean handwritten signature from a photo in about a minute.
Here's how it works:
- Upload your PDF.
- If you're on desktop, scan a QR code with your phone.
- Take a photo of your signature on white paper.
- AI removes the background automatically.
- Place the signature in your PDF.
No app to install. No manual image editing.
The result looks like a real scanned signature because it actually comes from your handwriting.
Key Features
- Real handwritten signature — created from a photo, not drawn on a screen or generated with a font.
- Fast workflow — sign a document in about a minute.
- Privacy first — your PDF never leaves your device. Only the signature photo is sent for background removal, then deleted immediately. Nothing is stored after the session.
Conclusion
The service is free for now. I can't promise it will stay that way forever, but I'd like to keep it free for early users as long as possible.
If you give it a try, I'd really appreciate your feedback. You can leave it here, send me a DM, or use the feedback form on the website.
